Workshop Master Civil Engineering & Electrical
About the role
The Centre for Trades has a focus to make our workshop areas function effectively whilst improving our student experiences and to continue to build on and create a stronger health, safety and wellbeing culture.
Our Shop Masters will be responsible for the efficient running of their allocated workshop area and to drive and support improvements in these designated areas. Shop Masters are allocated to a specific function, and this role is specific to Electrical and Civil Engineering.
The position is primarily technical including workshop management, maintenance, stock control and health and safety responsibilities with a purpose to achieve an efficient and effective learning environment for all users, students, staff and industry partners. Working in partnership with our academic staff members, the Shop Master will demonstrate the safe use of equipment to students as the specialist in their field.
Are you an ideal candidate?
This role will suit someone from a technical background or those who hold current trade certification, license, registration application to the position (e.g. electrical, building practitioner, forklift, first aid) and a passion for ensuring we utilise our teaching & learning environment’s in a safe and efficient way.
You will be required to undergo further training around teaching, to gain a better understanding of our business and to better help support tutors and students.
