Team Manager, Centre for Trades


We are looking for a Team Manager to become part of a high performing team at the Centre for Trades, Wintec.

Based at Wintec’s modern Engineering and Trades Facility at our Rotokauri Campus you will be part of leading change improvements to modernise and improve both business processes and teaching practices.

About the role

In this role you will be managing the Plumbing, Industrial Measurement and Control and Springhill programmes towards high performance.

You will manage the day-to-day academic and business activities of your team of tutors, and ensuring resources are in place for a quality learning environment. You will also be highly capable in creating a strong team environment by coaching, supporting and guiding staff to achieve and to develop their professional capability. Maintaining productive working relationships within the Centre and across Wintec will be imperative.

You will be innovative in your approach to operational efficiency, creative with problem solving, highly resilient and flexible to accommodate and manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Ideally you will:

  • Have strong people and change leadership skills
  • Have the ability to solve complex issues
  • Have knowledge or experience of business improvement or the tertiary education sector
  • Be committed to teaching excellence and innovative teaching practices
  • Have experience in leading teams towards high performance
  • Be customer-focused and enjoy working with a range of people
