About the role
In this role, you will be responsible working with programme leads managing the professional and academic activities of the nursing programmes and teaching faculty. Your leadership will maximise resources for a quality learning environment.
You will guide and support staff to achieve agreed teaching, research and professional engagement outcomes and to grow professionally. Maintaining productive working relationships within the Centre and across Wintec will also be important. Similarly, maintaining current service delivery connections and fostering new ones will be key.
Not only will you keep abreast of the latest information and technology, you'll create valuable opportunities for students and manage the delivery and development of programmes for flexible delivery locally and internationally. You will be a strategic thinker who has a vision for the future of nursing within Aotearoa New Zealand.
Are you an ideal candidate?
We are looking for people who have the following:
- Clear vision and passion for nursing education and practice
- Five years’ senior leadership experience in an academic setting
- Relevant Doctoral/PhD qualification in nursing, nursing education or related field
- Teaching and learning qualification relevant to higher education
- Prior experience in leading degree and post graduate level nursing programs
- A research track record and the ability to develop a cohesive programme of research
- Willingness to understand culture, identity and learning in New Zealand
- Current New Zealand Nursing Council registration (or eligibility to register) and extensive experience and knowledge of nursing theory and practice
If applicable, appointment with a further title of Associate Professor or Professor will be considered, commensurate with relevant academic experience.
