Mechanical Engineering Tutor
About the role
Are you passionate about Mechanical engineering and developing the next generation of Mechanical Engineering Technicians and Technologists? We are looking for an enthusiastic person for a full-time permanent position in our Centre for Engineering and Industrial Design (CEID).
Are you the ideal candidate?
As a Mechanical Engineering Tutor, you will have an outgoing personality and be comfortable working in a progressive team. You’ll liaise with colleagues in the industry to provide work experience opportunities and encourage students’ innovation and creative thinking. In this tutoring role, you can enhance the region’s professional quality while influencing the direction of your industry.
You will have suitable qualifications and some current industrial experience in Mechanical Engineering. You would need to have experience in Strengths of Materials, Thermodynamics and Mechanics. Experience with Finite Element Analysis and Solidworks would also be an advantage. This will complement our team of tutors in the delivery of the Level 6 New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering),and the Level 7 qualifications – the Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering) and the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics).
