Lecturer on the Bachelor of Teaching (ECE)

Are you a fully registered ECE teacher with experience in initial teacher education? Do you have competence in te reo to be able to support our students with their proficiency? 

We have a position in the Centre for Education and Foundation Pathways for an enthusiastic and committed lecturer. You will be able to create a stimulating learning environment utilising innovative teaching strategies. Our successful candidate will have proven experience in curriculum development and academic processes as well as the ability to adapt to the changing educational world.

You will be teaching and supporting students on our field-based Bachelor in Teaching ECE programme. You will also be visiting students in their practicum settings. The ideal applicant will be an advocate of learner centred and authentic educational practice.  To support Maori learners, knowledge of te reo Maori me ona tikanga is essential to this role.

In the Centre for Education and Foundation Pathways you will be part of an effective teaching team and have excellent interpersonal skills for engaging collaboratively with tutors and wider support services. 

This is an academic position which would involve predominantly teaching on degree programme. We are looking for someone whose minimum qualification is Masters, but preferably has an adult teaching qualification as well.  Evidence of success in initial teacher education will be an asset.
