About the role
As part of this hourly-paid fixed term role in the Centre for Health and Social Practice (CHASP) Team you will teach and contribute to the development and delivery of the Diploma in Enrolled Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing, and Competence Assessment Programmes by supporting and supervising our students on clinical placement.
We also currently have position(s) for Clinical Tutors to be placed within a Dedicated Education Unit setting (DEU) with external stakeholders.
The Centre has a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership, and the undergraduate nursing programmes are underpinned by an experiential approach to learning which links work, education, and personal and professional development. Importance is placed upon ensuring that graduates are work-ready and well prepared to gain employment in the health and social sector as nurses.
This position will require knowledge and experience with a range of health contexts.
Are you an ideal candidate?
To be successful you will ideally have:
- A Post-graduate Qualification in Adult Education (preferred)
- A relevant degree-level nursing qualification
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Proven experience within the nursing fields (acute care, primary health care, older persons and rehabilitation and/or mental health)
- Experience with preceptorship (advantageous) / and or working towards Postgraduate studies
- Practical knowledge of Tikanga Māori and cultural values relevant to Māori communities.
- An understanding of effective teaching strategies to support successful levels of achievement at Level 4 and above.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team.
